ALOYSIA TRIPHYLLA (Lemon verbena)

Aloysia triphylla (Lemon verbena) is a perennial shrub, native from Chili, Peru [1] and Argentina. Lemon verbena grows in warm climates and has a very characteristic scent to lemon, that´s where its common name Lemon verbena comes from. The flowers are bright yellow and the fruits encapsulated.

FOENICULUM VULGARE (Fennel)

This shrub blooms in fall and winter.

malva sylvestrisMalva sylvestris, also known as Common mallow, is a plant native to Europe, mainly the Mediterranean countries and also found in North Africa and Asia that is know for its antioxidant, wound healing, diuretic, expectorant, against edema, bum, wound, for their carminative, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, however and in spite several sources mentioned anti-cancer properties of Malva sylvestris, the only scientific study on this respect didn't show very positive anti-proliferative effects. Malva sylvestries has been also commonly consumed in salads or as an ingredient in some recipes [12].

Tripterygium wilfordii Hook. This herb has also shown to be effective on the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other affections[5]. One of the active components found in Tripterygium wilfordii Hook, triptolide, has demonstrated to be an effective anti-tumour agent, being able to reduce solid tumor masses, and is presently being used in different clinical trials based on its potent anti-tumor effects in a prostate cancer. Other clinical trials and studies, among them one from Yale University and another one from Texas University [7], demonstrated also the success of triptolide in Tripterygium wilfordii Hook, on the treatment of Polycystic kidney disease (PKD).
